2008 New York State Capital 5th Anniversary Remembering The Fallen Peace Walk: Review

Remembering The Fallen - Supporting The Survivors

On March 22, 2008 over 600 to 1000+ people participated in the 5th Anniversary NY State Capital Remembering The Fallen Peace Walk.

This Walk For Peace highlighted the following demands:

  1. Bring The Troops Home – End The War Now
  2. Reparations for the Iraqi People
  3. Money for Jobs, Health Care, Education, Community Needs, Not Occupation
  4. Full Benefits for Returning Veterans
  5. Restore Our Constitutional Government and Rights
  6. Stop the Torture by the United States
  7. No War with Iran

Ironically, the following day we passed the 4000 mark for thenumber of U.S Service Personnel killed in this illegal and immoral occupation of Iraq.

We are also way past 1 Million Dead Iraqis and the U.S Government continues to beat drums of war to attack Iran. In fact, Saudi Arabia announced the day after Dick Cheney ended his visit to their country that they are preparing for nuclear fallout should the U.S attack Iran nuclear facilities.

At the rally, which took place in downtown Albany in the Capital West Park, participants set up a display with the names of nearly 4,000 of the fallen US soldiers and also the identities of 4,000+ Iraqi civilians who have died.
